Father’s Day

Any holiday since Christina passed has been weird, and today is no different. To be honest, a lot of my thoughts today are jumbled. But I do have one thought that is clear and I wanted to share that.

“Husband” is a role that has changed, but “Father” has not.

I’m thankful for the privilege of that role. That through Christina, I am now able to be a dad to a wonderful son, Ramsey. This call and this task is a gift that not everyone gets to have. So what will I do with this blessing? Will I waste what God has given me or will I work hard to be the best father I can be? And will I lean on the ultimate Father to give me strength to do so?

I don’t feel the need to fluff this blog up with a lot of words. It’s this simple. With another year as a dad, I will strive to lead my son in grace, discipline, and most of all, a love for the Lord. I will lead with a desire, hope, and prayer that my fathering will lead Ramsey to our Heavenly Father.

Thank you again for your prayers! I feel them every day!
